LASS

Among a dozen shrubs and thorns,
something idiosyncratic was born.
She stood still watching the boy walk past her to school,
while she was deemed nothing but a propagule.
In multitudes, he conquest the thrones’ positions
While rang in her ears in manifold the, “You belong in the kitchen's.”

But not one vine had the strength to hold her back.
This time she stood, but tall and high,
Combating for her virtues and rights,
Whilst bearing on her bosoms, a child!

PORTUS

~My Graduation Speech (2020)

I still remember the day when I stepped through those large blue painted gates of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, a little girl clinging to her mother’s fingers as tightly as she could. There in front of her stood her class teacher, her loving smile encouraged the little girl to venture into a place where she had to spend the next 13 years of her life. That little girl was none other than me.

From that day to this day, I have never had a cause for concern or fear about schooling. I knew I was in great hands. As I'm typing this, I am overwhelmed by a gamut of emotions.

For the first time in my life, I had learnt the importance of friendship. We played, studied and fought together, competed among ourselves and above all, understood each other intensely. From being punished for each other’s mistakes, to eating secretly during class hours, to our crazy conversations, we were really good partners in crime.

I salute the silent corridors and walls that saw us grow up, and the playfields where we ran about learning the lessons of life. These experiences fill the pages of our book of LIFE.

 Almost every single bench has our names etched on it, and every single wall holds our secrets as strong as concrete, we leave a part of us behind.

After a few years, when we go over these pages someday, it will tell us the success of years of patience and encouragement of not only our parents but also our teachers who guided us in our quest for happiness and success.

First few years of schooling gave me only frolic fun and loads of knowledge but as the years flew by, I felt a gush of wind swiping me into a time and period of life where I seemed to be lost and lonely, but not the forget the strong arms which comprised of teachers and friends and they did not let me fall and I was dragged back from the oblivion to the oblivious.

I am thankful to everyone who has been with me through my thick and thin and to the ones who had caused it. They thought me about a place called world, beyond school where I would be all by myself. They made me Strong, Independent and Bold.

The two best days of my life will always be:

  . The first day, and                                  . The last day

In simple words, we came in crying and we will leave crying.

WHICH ONE DO  I CHOOSE?

                                                               ~poetic muggle

The Lily is pale white and smells so good,

The Lotus in pink which I like too;

Which one do I choose?

The Morning Glory produces ink,

The Rose bud in my favourite pink;

Which one do I choose?

The Sunflower after the name sun,

To smell Jasmine is so much fun;

Which one do I choose?

Can you give me a few clues

As of to which one do I choose...
